WCCU Launches Teacher Grant Program

The Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) will be awarding $9,000 in grants, in values up to $500, for the upcoming 2022/23 school year to local Teachers, Administrators, or Staff from the following public-school districts: Chariho, Exeter-West Greenwich, Coventry, Narragansett, North Stonington, South Kingstown, Stonington, and Westerly.
The Credit Union awards these grants annually to support creative and experiential educational projects or programs in the area’s school districts. Special consideration is given to innovative projects that strengthen the relationship between our schools and the community at large, as well as to projects that support student excellence. All applications are judged on the following criteria: Educational Focus, Promotion of Skills/Excellence, Creativity/Innovation, Community Connection, and Goal Clarity/Attainability.
“We recognize the enormous responsibility our local Teachers, Administration, and Staff have in meeting learning objectives and keeping students engaged in these challenging times. We are pleased to offer teacher grants that enhance the overall educational experience as well as provide meaningful development opportunities,” stated Steve White, WCCU President and CEO. “We want to show our support and appreciation for their innovation and ongoing fortitude to help children succeed.”
Grant applications are available through the WCCU website, www.westerlyccu.com/teacher-grant Completed applications must be submitted to WCCU no later than October 31, 2022. Monies will be awarded in early December.
